TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND
TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND

Tedeschi Trucks Band will play the PCC Theater  on Sunday, November 13th at 7:30 pm. Joining them will be with Amy Helm & The Handsome Strangers.

The TTB journey began on April 1, 2010, with their first gig at the Savannah Music Festival, and led to the recording and release of their Grammy-winning debut album Revelator in 2011, and Made Up Mind two years later. During their five-year rise, the group toured incessantly, raising their profile and being handpicked to play with the likes of Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and Santana; to appear on television shows hosted by Jay Leno, Conan, and on the premiere of Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show; and hosting special all-star musical salutes themselves, including Bonnaroo’s Superjam in 2014 (with Chaka Khan, Anthony Hamilton, Taj Mahal, and others), and Lock’n Festival’s Tribute to Joe Cocker’s Mad Dogs & Englishmen in 2015 (with Leon Russell, Rita Coolidge, and many other original members.)

What began as an eight-piece group has now expanded to an onstage lineup of twelve musicians—a lineup that has remained unusually consistent. In 2015, for the fifth straight year, they were on the road for more than 200 days, and sold more tickets than ever before. Swamp Raga, the recording studio that Trucks and Tedeschi built from scratch next to their house, has been expanded and updated to the point that no other facilities are required. Bobby Tis, the band’s longtime, on-the-road monitor engineer has become their full-time studio engineer; Trucks himself now serves as sole producer. All tracks on Let Me Get By, released on January 29, 2016, are credited to Trucks, with three songs co-produced by guitarist and longtime collaborator Doyle Bramhall II.

In addition to the $1 donation per ticket, the bands have teamed up with Crowdrise to give fans the option to enter for the chance to win VIP tickets plus a Meet & Greet by choosing to donate an additional $5 at the time of ticket purchase. Five Finger Death Punch recently released their fourth single, “I Apologize,” from their #1 album Got Your Six. The song is rapidly climbing the Rock charts while the video is nearing four million views after only a short amount of time. The chilling clip follows Ivan Moody through a cemetery housing our era’s most notable deceased rock icons, ranging from Elvis to Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse to Jimi Hendrix. It was shot at Los Angeles’ famed Angelus Rosedale Cemetery with Nathan Cox directing the band-conceived storyline. Watch the video here. Five Finger Death Punch are currently in the studio recording the follow-up album to Got Your Six which will be released sometime in 2017.

Shinedown’s latest single “Asking For It” – the third off of the multiplatinum rock band’s current album Threat To Survival– made its premiere with an electrifying performance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”  The track follows back-to-back #1 singles “Cut The Cord” and “State Of My Head,” and is currently top 3 at Rock radio, looking to build upon the band’s record-setting tally of 20 chart-topping singles.  Showing their lighter side, the band released a humorous, tongue-in-cheek video for “Asking For It” in both long-form and as a radio edit version.  You can see both at Shinedown’s official YouTube channel – www.youtube.com/shinedown. Shinedown is currently in the midst of headlining the 6th annual Carnival of Madness tour.  The band plans to release their fourth single, “How Did You Love,” next month.

Five Finger Death Punch’s highly acclaimed sixth album, Got Your Six, hit new sales heights for the band around the world with its September 2015 debut. In the U.S., it debuted at #1 on Top Album chart, #1 on the Overall Digital Album chart, and #1 on the Hard Music Album chart, as well as at #2 on the Billboard Top 200, and sold 115K in the first week of release. This was the first #1 Album for the Las Vegas hard-rockers. Impressive international chart numbers rolled in from Australia and Canada (#3), Germany and Sweden (#5), and the UK (#6), to name a few. Five Finger Death Punch have grown exponentially in just a few years, racking up 16 consecutive top 10 hits, five #1 hits, six gold and one platinum album. With the release of 2013’s The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 1 and Volume 2, the band created continuous new content with which they outsold the majority of bands in their genre, selling 2 million albums over the past three years in North America alone. The band is currently taking Got Your Six around the world touring throughout 2017. For more info visit: www.fivefingerdeathpunch.com.

Prior to joining the U.S. run, Five Finger Death Punch will embark on their most extensive tour of Canada to date this September, co-headlining Canadian arenas from cost-to-coast with Papa Roach. See all Canadian dates HERE.

Known worldwide for their unparalleled streak of hits, Shinedown is without question one of the most successful rock bands of the 21st century. The band’s unmatched ascendancy over multi-format rock radio has seen the band achieve a record setting 20 #1 singles, including back-to-back chart-toppers “Cut The Cord” and “State Of My Head” off of their latest album, “THREAT TO SURVIVAL.”  Released last fall, “THREAT TO SURVIVAL” debuted at #1 on both Billboard’s Rock Albums and Hard Rock Albums chart, and #5 overall on the Billboard 200.  Shinedown exploded onto the rock scene with 2003’s RIAA-certified Platinum debut album “LEAVE A WHISPER,” has had every album since - “US AND THEM” (2005), “THE SOUND OF MADNESS” (2008),  “AMARYLLIS” (2012) – score either Gold or Platinum success. Hailed by fans as a fiery and always exciting live act, Shinedown have toured hard throughout their career, including countless headline treks and festival appearances. The band has shared their explosive performances with a national audience through high profile television appearances on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and TODAY, CBS’ The Early Show, and TBS’ Conan, among others. In 2009, Shinedown received an American Music Award nomination for “Best Alternative Rock Band.”  Shinedown is: Brent Smith (vocals), Barry Kerch (drums), Zach Myers (guitars), and Eric Bass (bass).  For more information, please visit www.shinedown.com.

Formed in Los Angeles in 2007, SIXX: A.M.’s mission has remained steadfast: to provide the masses with iconic, hard rock that boasts unrivaled musicianship. Comprised of vocalist and producer James Michael, guitarist Dj Ashba, and bassist Nikki Sixx, the band has previously released three studio albums; The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack (2007), This Is Gonna Hurt (2011), and Modern Vintage (2014), and has sold over 1 million albums globally. On April 29th, SIXX: A.M. released their fourth studio album, Volume 1, Prayers for the Damned  – the first installment of their 2016 double album- via Eleven Seven Music.

Volume 2 is set to be released later this Fall. Following the success of their Top 3 hit “Rise” earlier this year, SIXX: A.M.’s new single, the title track of Volume 1, Prayers for the Damned is currently storming the rock charts in the U.S. and Canada. For more information on tour dates and the band, please visit www.sixxammusic.com

As Lions, comprised of vocalist Austin Dickinson, guitarists Conor O’Keefe and Will Homer, bassist Stefan Whiting, and drummer Dave Fee formed in late 2014 and have been on the road ever since. Called the “Hot New Band of 2015” by Metal Hammer, the band has been keeping busy by touring building a national following through the United Kingdom. This year, As Lions will release their debut album, produced by multi-platinum award-winning producer David Bendeth, (Paramore, Papa Roach), on Better Noise Records.www.aslionsband.com

PSO Russian Masters
PSO Russian Masters

Cellist Richard Hirschl returns to Peoria and joins the PSO as soloist for the Shostakovich, widely considered to be one of the most difficult works for the cello. Hirschl’s last solo appearance with the PSO was in Brahms’s Double Concerto.

Maestro Stelluto describes the Glinka as “A four minute musical roller coaster that delights all riders.”

Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 requires everything from the soloist – impeccable technique, inspired passion, searching intellect, and emotional maturity. Like much of his music, it is slightly autobiographical and depicts both his love of Russia and his “difficulties” with the Soviet system.

Tchaikovsky’s masterful Fourth Symphony is the first of his “psychological symphonies.” Also autobiographical, his is a story of inner struggle and eventual (possibly) triumph despite the relentlessness of Fate, which haunts this musical journey from the opening brass fanfare. Dramatic and emotional, Tchaikovsky describes this symphony as “life in an unbroken alternation of hard reality with swiftly passing dreams and visions of happiness.”
