A piece of US History returns to Peoria's RiverFront in September. The LST 325 Ship will be docking and open for tours daily from 9am - 5pm from September 8 - 12. The LST (Landing Ship Tank) 325 was part of the largest fleet in history by participating in the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach. The ship was decommissioned in 1946 and was acquired in 2000 by the USS LST Memorial, Inc who made necessary repairs and later opened it for educational tours starting in 2003.
