PSO Wednesdays - March 2020
PSO Wednesdays - March 2020
It's your favorite monthly event—PSO Wednesdays at the Twelve Bar! This month we welcome PSO musicians Leslie Koons (violin), Hyo-Jung Chung (violin), Lowell Koons (viola), and Christine Cicha (cello).
PSO Wednesdays is a new music series in the Village of Peoria Heights produced in partnership with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra.
Every second Wednesday at The Twelve Bar will feature members of the PSO presenting unique performances in varying capacities. While you will surely hear some Mozart, Bach and other classics, this series will showcase the vastness of musicianship and styles the PSO and its world-class musicians continue to bring to the region.
Enjoy these very special intimate performances every second Wednesday in The Twelve Bar lounge on the third floor above EDGE, By Chef Dustin Allen at 4500 Prospect Avenue in the Heights (parking and elevator in back). This series is for all ages and there is no cover. Food and drink by EDGE, By Chef Dustin Allen and the Twelve Bar will be available all evening.

Rivaling the Harlem Renaissance, Bronzeville became Chicago’s epicenter of black working, middle-, and upper-class culture and establishments from the 1920s through the ‘50s. Bronzeville was well-known for its nightclubs and dance halls. The jazz, blues, and gospel music that developed with the migration of Southern musicians attracted scores of diverse listeners and admirers. This lecture will explore the artists who worked within and documented this cultural phenomenon.
Juarez Hawkins, a native of Chicago, is a second-generation artist. Her mother is one of the painters of Chicago’s famous Wall of Respect. Hawkins is a member of the Sapphire and Crystals collective. She has exhibited widely and has been showcased in literary works. She has taught art at a number of Chicago-area schools and a variety of galleries; she currently teaches Art History at Chicago State University.
