Rollin’ on the River – 1st Annual Wheel-a-Thon – Saturday, October 10th, 10am, Peoria RiverPlex
Rollin' on the River is a fundraising and community awareness event that promises to be as fun as it is informational. Persons with or without a disability will participate in teams, using wheelchairs to negotiate a 1-mile route, encountering obstacles along the way. The event will be held rain or shine on October 10th along RiverWalk, Peoria's beautiful riverfront trail next to the RiverPlex. Registration begins at 10am.
The wheel-a-thon supports the efforts of Advocates for Access (AFA), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live independently in our community. AFA provides direct services and advocacy for persons in Peoria, Tazewell, Fulton & Woodford counties.
