A piece of US History returns to Peoria's RiverFront in September. The LST 325 Ship will be docking and open for tours daily from 9am - 5pm from September 8 - 12. The LST (Landing Ship Tank) 325 was part of the largest fleet in history by participating in the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach. The ship was decommissioned in 1946 and was acquired in 2000 by the USS LST Memorial, Inc who made necessary repairs and later opened it for educational tours starting in 2003.

Cruise along the picturesque Illinois River and relive the adventures of Mark Twain as the sounds of the calliope drift through the valley.

Kids and adults alike will be fascinated by the boat’s tall fluted stacks and gigantic candy-apple red paddlewheel churning through the water. It’s great entertainment for all ages. Trip includes Captain’s Commentary. Gift shop and concessions are available. No reservations required.

These cruises are an hour and a half-long. They begin and end at the riverfront dock in downtown Peoria.

 The Peoria Firefighters Local 50 presents Fire On The Water on Peoria’s RiverFront with live music by The New Imposters (4:30pm), Generations (6:30pm) & JammSammich (9pm), food by Meat-N-Place, & ice cold drinks by Budweiser! $5 donation to enter.

This year also features the 1st Annual Firefighters Local 50 Bags Tournament. $15/person to register. Registration begins at noon, games begin at 1pm at the CEFCU Center Stage.
