Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins and Cledus T. Judd at PCC
Montgomery Gentry, Trace Adkins and Cledus T. Judd at PCC

The popular country music duo Montgomery Gentry and solo country star Trace Adkins will bring their high-powered vocals to the Peoria Civic Center Arena on Friday, April 15, at 8:00 p.m. as part of their "Turn It Up and Bring It On Tour." Comedian Cledus T. Judd will open the show. Tickets are $32.50 and go on sale next Saturday, February 12, at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.com, all outlets, including the Civic Center Box Office, or by phone at 309-676-8700.   With their fourth CD, "You Do Your Thing," Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry sing songs that strip life to the marrow, that make passion and loss, pride and heartache into palpable entities. They are singers at the peak of their form, making music that is as raw and powerful as it is compelling. Montgomery Gentry was named the CMA's Duo of the Year in 2000, and received that year's American Music Award for Favorite New Artist - Country and the Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal Group or Duo. They also won the 2000 and 2001 Radio & Records Readers' Poll award for Top Country Duo.  Trace Adkins has one of those truth-telling country voices that grabs you, whether it's coming through a car speaker or over an arena sound system. Although a string of hits made him a superstar, he truly sings about the joys and challenges of everyday people. That knack for authenticity has created a huge base of devoted fans, sold millions of records and made him the most-recent inductee into the prestigious Grand Ole Opry. With his new album, "Comin' On Strong," the straight-shooting Adkins offers 11 songs that are the essence of country music - lyrics about adult themes that feel absolutely real, with melodies that stick in the mind. His "Greatest Hits Collection, Volume 1" shot up Billboard's pop chart and debuted at No. 1 on the country album charts. Cledus T. Judd, a comedian well known for his parodies of country hits, says he was "born to entertain." As country music's most creative funnyman, Judd thumbs his nose at protocol and makes people laugh - at him and at themselves. His first music video, "If Shania Was Mine," a parody of Shania Twain's "Any Man of Mine" debuted on CMT and made him a music video star. It also won CMT's Independent Video of the Year honors in 1996, as did "Every Light In The House Is Blown" in 1998. He has since sold over a million records primarily on the strength of his ingenious music videos.  This event is brought to you by NiteLite Promotions.
