PSO New Year\'s Eve at The Twelve Bar

12/31/19 07:30PM - 01:00AM

Ring in the New Year with a very special evening of amazing food, drink, music and your favorite people at Peoria Symphony Orchestra (PSO) New Year's Eve at The Twelve Bar, 4500 N. Prospect Road (Third Floor), Peoria Heights, Illinois!

This exclusive New Year's Eve celebration will feature a stellar lineup of PSO musicians and guest artists, specialty cocktails made by our very own mixologist, Shane Harvey, and farm-to-plate hors d’oeuvres and small plates all night from EDGE, By Chef Dustin Allen.

The evening will begin with beautiful solo music from PSO Concertmaster Marcia Henry Liebenow, whose playing is described as "sizzling with dark sensuality" and "heart-wrenching in its soulful beauty." She has been the PSO Concertmaster for over 25 years and teaches violin, viola, and chamber music at Bradley University.

Active as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, Marcia’s performances have been broadcast in Europe and across the United States, including on National Public Radio’s Performance Today. She has appeared as soloist with the Samara Philharmonic Symphony in Russia, with orchestras in Germany, and served as Primo Violino at the Orvieto Musica in Italy.

Next, you’ll hear The Judy Page Project, featuring Judy Page, vocalist; John Miller, guitar; Tim Brickner, bass; and Manuel Lopez III, percussion. Once you’ve heard Judy Page’s voice, you will never forget it. Bursting forth is a deep, vocal caress that channels the cries, pain and longing of love lost; the whispers of stories scandalous and vexing; and the unscripted silences that allow you to sit back and just… take it all in.

John Miller is one of the area’s most accomplished guitarists, having played with the likes of the legendary Cab Calloway. He now performs with his band, the Romaniacs, and every Tuesday night at Peoria’s Broken Tree Café with Preston Jackson—which has garnered him a cult following.

The evening will close with an electrifying performance by Strat & Strad—a unique, haunting, and beautiful little corner of the audio world. If you've been craving for something different in music, they will fill that void. The sweet guitar licks are performed by Aaron Ardner, filled in with beautiful melodies by Rosemary Ardner. A second violinist with the PSO, she adds her eclectic electric violin to the mix for an unforgettable combination.

$75/person (does not include tax, fees or gratuity) includes music, hors d’oeuvres, a champagne toast at midnight and rotating spreads of small plates all night.
