Zobrist Double Play

01/21/17 07:00PM - 10:00PM

PEORIA, IL – The Peoria Rivermen are pleased to announce that the previously postponed appearance by Chicago Cubs All-Star and World Series MVP Ben Zobrist will be held during Peoria’s January 21 game against Columbus. The Eureka native was scheduled to appear at Peoria’s November 26 game before illness prevented him from traveling to Central Illinois.

Zobrist will be the Rivermen Guest of Honor at the January 21 contest, dropping the ceremonial first puck of the game and being honored on the ice for his accomplishments on and off the playing field. The 34-year-old was named World Series MVP after he helped the Chicago Cubs to the franchise’s first championship since 1908.

Fans who purchased tickets to Peoria’s November 26 game can exchange their used or unused tickets for the November contest for a ticket to the January 21 game, or any other Rivermen home game in the 2016-17 regular season.

Fans wishing to exchange their November 26 ticket for a ticket to the January 21 game must make the swap no later than January 6, 2017. Exchanges can be made through the Toyota Box Office at the Peoria Civic Center, or through the Rivermen office, and every effort will be made to place fans as close to their original seats as possible.

If fans wish to exchange their tickets but are unable to make it to the Peoria Civic Center, they can mail their November 26 tickets to the following address:
Peoria Rivermen Hockey Club
Attn: Ben Zobrist Ticket Exchange
201 SW Jefferson Street
Peoria, IL 61602

In addition to game tickets, fans who purchased the Grand Slam Package should follow the same procedures outlined above to exchange their game tickets. The red autograph ticket Grand Slam Package purchasers received for admission to the autograph line on the rescheduled date should be saved for use on the 21st, and the food voucher that was issued with the Grand Slam Package is redeemable at any Rivermen home game.

January 21 is already scheduled to be Peoria’s Faith and Family Night, with an hour-long postgame concert by Ben’s wife, acclaimed Christian recording artist Julianna Zobrist. The concert will start approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of the hockey game, and admission for the concert is included in the game tickets.

Group, Season, and single-game tickets for Peoria's 35th season of professional hockey, presented by Midwest Orthopaedic Center, are on sale now at the Rivermen office, located at 201 S.W. Jefferson Street, or over the phone at (309) 676-1040.
