Alexander Girard, also known as Sandro, was a leading designer and architect in the mid-twentieth century. He worked across multiple disciplines, including industrial design as well as interior, furniture, and textile design. He and his wife were also enthusiastic collectors of folk art. In this Fine Arts Society lecture, Monica Obniski of the Milwaukee Art Museum will highlight Girard’s playful designs and his use of folk art. Social time at 9:30 AM. Program begins at 10:00 AM.
